What you get

  • Workshops every week

    Hands-on sessions every Wednesday: robot arms, Arduino, sensors, CAD and drones. Each one starts from zero.

  • Kit to build with

    Microcontrollers, servos, sensors and tools are on the bench at every session. Bring ideas, not parts.

  • Socials

    Games nights, movie nights, bowling and a spring formal, often with UCL Robotics.

  • Competitions

    Build for real contests: society teams have taken on RoboWars, Unibots UK and the UKSEDS Mars Rover challenge.

  • A free 3D printer

    Well, free use of one: print the parts for your builds on the society’s printers.

Questions

Do I need experience?

No. “No experience? No problem!” is practically the society motto: every workshop starts from scratch, and committee members float around the room to help.

Is it only for engineers?

No. Members come from every course and every level, undergrad to PhD. If robots make you curious, you belong here.

What should I bring?

A laptop, if you have one, but it’s optional. We bring the kit, the tools and the snacks.

Can I join if I’m not at King’s?

Yes: there’s an associate membership for people who aren’t King’s students. Ask the committee and we’ll set you up.
